Articles, tests:
Features:
- Depth of field: enter the focal length of the lens (mm), the aperture, the object distance (m/ft), and the film format (35mm,6x6,6x9,4x5,5x7,8x10). The near and far distances and the hyperfocal distance will be calculated.
- Lens choice: enter the object distance, the object size, and the desired size on film (mm/in). The magnification ratio and the focal length of the lens to be used will be calculated.
- EV difference: select a pair of ISO, aperture and shutter speed values. The difference in light values (EV in +/- 1/3 steps) will be calculated.
- Flash distance: enter the guide number of your flash at the selected zoom setting (guide numbers can be stored in the program for reference), enter the film speed and the aperture. The maximum and minimum distances will be calculated.
- Flash aperture: enter the guide number of your flash, the object distance, and the film speed. The recommended aperture will be displayed.
- Flash bounce: enter the object distance and the height of the ceiling or distance of wall you use for bouncing. The flash total distance and the angle of the flash head will be calculated.
- Second ticker: after you hit Enter you will hear a tiny beep every second (low pitch or high pitch selectable). Start the bulb exposure when you hear a beep, and use it as an aid when counting long exposures (best between 3 seconds and 2 minutes of exposure time).
- Close-up ratio: enter the focal length of the lens, the length of the tube or extension of bellows (mm), and the object size. The magnification ratio and the final object size on the film will be calculated.
And more...
- Extension tube choice: enter the focal length of the lens (mm), the object size, and the desired size on film (mm/in). The magnification ratio, the object distance and the necessary tube size will be calculated.
- Distance choice: enter the focal length of the lens (mm), the object size, and the desired size on film (mm/in). The magnification ratio and the object distance will be calculated.
- Digital: how to scan and print calculations.
- Converters: ISO <-> DIN, Meters <-> Feet <-> Inch <-> cm <-> mm.
- Log book, shooting log or index: for making up-to-date index...
Future development:
- Print: 80%
- Export: 90%
- Import: 0%
- PgUp/PgDn/End/Home handling: 100%
- Delete/insert record: 100%
- Code brush: 55%
- Sunrise/set/twilight, moonphase: 90%
- Reverse DOF calculator: 99%
- Angle of view: 100%
- Diopter <-> Focal length converter: 100%
You can NOT do with it:
- Minolta MAXXUM/Dynax 7, 9; Nikon F100, F5: You can NOT receive data from these cameras via serial cable.
If you need any other features just let me know, I will be happy to include them in a future version of the program.
